Shelterbox Donation made by the pupils of Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School        back
After seeing the devastation caused by the earthquake in Haiti students at the school wanted to do something to help people affected by the earthquake and decided to raise money for Shelterbox, the Rotary charity which had responded so quickly and effectively to the disaster. Over 7000 Shelterboxes have been sent to Haiti and have served as a make-shift field hospital as well as providing much needed humanitarian relief to those affected.

The school students arranged a number of fund raising events around the theme of Valentine's Day. These included 'selling' email messages, cookies and cup cakes, red roses hand delivered by staff and students, and pupils were excused uniform for the day in exchange for a £1 donation.

The fun day raised a whopping £2000 and the School Council decided that this should be donated to the Rotary Club of Dronfield earmarked for the purchase of 4 Shelterboxes.
The Shelterboxes have now been ordered from the Shelterbox HQ in Helston, Cornwall.

A cheque was presented to Chris Burke, President of the Rotary Club of Dronfield, by a representative sample of students and staff.
