Shark study field trip.
The club have agreed a donation of £200 towards the cost of a field study trip by a Dronfield Henry Fanshawe student, Katie Gill, for a shark study course. Katie will talk to the club about her trip on her return. - read more

Visit to Nepal
Six members of Dronfield Rotary Club have recently returned from a fact finding visit to Nepal. The trip enabled them to see the work of the Fishtail Fund in the city of Pokhara. On one fabulous and unbelievable day the Dronfield team visited Prithvi Rupa School which we intend to rebuild on a safe site after the earthquake damaged the current school buildings. - read more

Another great speaker at todays meeting. In 1967 John Driskell and David Peckett along with two other friends Les Simms and Pam Archer from Sheffield Teacher Training College set out on the adventure of life time 'Overland from Barnsley to Katmandu'. - read more

Monster cheque boosts £40,000 school rebuilding effort
In a short ceremony on November 3rd, the club hailed a milestone in our efforts to rebuild an earthquake-damaged school in distant Nepal when the Rotary Benevolent Trust matched our fundraising with a cheque for £20,000. - read more

An excellent guest speaker
Todays guest speaker Michael Lewis told the compelling story of his mother Helen Lewis a holocaust survivour. Her book A Time To Speak, about her experiences before and during World War 2, was published in 1992. - read more

Mayor Launches Poppy Appeal

Sad news for the club
It is with great sadness that we have to announce that club member Chris Burke died on 29th August 2016 whilst walking and leading a group in the mountains of Austria which he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed by the many thousands of people whoes lives he has enriched. - read more

Bucket collection for CRY
The club was at Sainsbury's on Friday, July 31st supporting CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young. With the support of the very generous Sainsburys customers our bucket collection raised £420 to support CRY. - read more

Local Scout heads to Japan Jamboree
The club are delighted to be able to support local Scout Fiona Baxter who is currently in Japan attending the international Scout Jamboree. - read more

The club has beaten 52 other Rotary Clubs in Derbyshire and Nottingshire to win the Youth Awards Trophy. - read more

The club was at Sainsbury's Dronfield on a warm and sunny Friday, July 3rd supporting the Sick Childrens Trust. We were helping to run a bucket collection for the Trust. - read more

Collection at Sheffield United FC
Great morning at Bramall Lane home of Sheffield United FC where members of Dronfield Rotary Club joined together with members of Sheffield and Clay Cross clubs plus friends to raise money for the Nepal Earthquake appeal.
