Dronfield Festival of Leisure 2010        back

Try something new! This was the theme at Dronfield School recently when the The Rotary Club of Dronfield decided it was time to try to get together leisure and hobby groups serving the town - to display their wares and attract new members. Desert the TV! Join a Group! they urged the people of Dronfield.

The Festival attracted many members of the public, far more than predicted. as local people arrived they were greeted by no less than 61 organisations promoting themselves.

Wonderful support was offered by Mayor Phillip Blackburn, who opened the event, personally visited all displays.

Light refreshments were provided by the Inner Wheel Club of Dronfield’ resulting in a profit of £600 for one of the charities they are supporting
