About us

Dear Reader. Before you go a step further and explore the wonderful world of Rotary, we would like to welcome you and hope you will feel the enthusiasm of and want to share the amazing charity work that our club in Dronfield is noted for.

This is a club of men and women who share friendship and fellowship whilst supporting local projects as well as casting our net far and wide to change the fortunes of those who are suffering in far away places such as Ukraine and Turkey/Syria.

Dedicated at putting service above self (the moto of the whole worldwide Rotary movement), we have fun in raising money  for local organisations - an outdoor classroom at a local school, buying costumes to enable local children to go in to care homes to entertain residents , working with local schools to develop 'quiet and safe areas for children, as well as being closely involved in International calls for aid during natural disasters.

We support our local FoodBank and our help continues as demand rises due to the economic state of our country.

We have worked-in many ways to help Ukraine and Ukrainians who fled the war and came to our area. We continue to work with RC Warsaw Wilanow Poland - to send a generator to a convent in Southern Ukraine - housing 300+ refugees from the war-food and medical supplies and this month ventilation equipment to make life better for the refugees in the convent.

We have donated to Aquabox to send aid to the victims of the devastating earthquake.

Apart from fund raising (remember those santa look-alikes that asked you for your spare change outside Sainsburys and Aldi- and round the streets of S18- our bottle stall at Coal Aston fete, the 60s night to name but a few,)we meet every week -Tuesday evening at 6.30pm for fellowship and friendship at the Barn as well as visiting interesting local, places and inviting speakers to tell us about their lives and jobs: Our speakers are wide ranging -an orthopaedic surgeon,a  speaker from the Sheffield Childrens Hospital,a speaker explaining the fascinating work of medical aid dogs amd most recently we heard about the fascinating life of a man who was born deaf and lost his sight completely in his 30's.

And so so much more. Take a look at the web site and I am positive you will be interested to join us in making a difference both locally and world wide.
