John Bell from local charity Pathways spoke recently to the club about the work the organisation undertake with homeless people in the area. In support of this excellent work the club has provided £300 pounds of funding to the charity.

Pathways of Chesterfield is a day centre for those who are either homeless or rootless. They are also unique in that they provide a facility that is not provided by anyone else in the borough. |

Pathways day centre opened in February 2006 and currently support 55 regular registered service users who are homeless or rootless. In April this year, the centre moved to larger premises on Stand Road and is now open 5 days per week (including Sundays) offering hot meals and drinks each day. The centre has a clothes and toiletries room enabling clients to get much needed supplies free of charge. Pathways also have a shower, a laundry, a training room, a health room, a one to one room, a games room offering pool, table tennis and a variety of other games and activities, a lounge area and a garden which the clients enjoy maintaining. |
